Almost 40% of students in the Central Kitsap School District (CKSD) quality for free or reduced meals. On Friday's, participating students in the CKFBP4K program take home supplemental food for their families; enough for two easily prepared meals for a family of four. CKFBP4K relies on food drives and donations in order to provide enough food to deliver upwards of 300 bags a week..

The goal of CKFBP4K is to develop and maintain steady funding stream to provide food for students at risk of hunger on the weekends.  

Numbers are tracked on a weekly basis and those numbers are provided by the Student Support Specialists within each school.

Mission

Central Kitsap Food Backpacks 4 Kids (CKFB4K) provides supplemental meals each weekend during the school year to students and families of the Central Kitsap School District who are at risk of weekend hunger.

Our organization sends home, over 6,000 supplemental meals to these families during a school year. We help in 11 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 1 secondary school by sending home approximately 300 bags to 215 families.

This impressive accomplishment is achieved through food drives, donations, and the diligent work of our wonderful volunteers.

Needs

Monetary donations so we can buy food items in bulk at a reduced price to allow us to purchase more .
