$20,000 Goal

The film industry continues to struggle with diversity and inclusion, and the traditional film financing and distribution models have let women down for decades. Even when the numbers inarguably prove that female-driven content sells, Hollywood is still reluctant to invest in projects that uplift female voices.

Meanwhile, studios and streaming services are raking in huge profits from film and TV, while the creatives behind each production are struggling to make a living. This exclusive, top-heavy structure is causing massive fissures in Hollywood. It is becoming increasingly clear that we need a new model that sustains both companies and individuals for the long term health of our industry.

Mission

The mission of Emergence Films is to revolutionize the way women conceptualize, make, distribute and market independent media. We are a female-focused venture studio prioritizing ethical practices, equity for our storytellers, and sustainability for our planet and our industry.

We are disrupting conventions, pioneering alternatives, and utilizing cutting edge technology to directly connect storytellers with their audiences in creative and market-expanding ways.

We have also launched a program for early career female-identifying filmmakers. Through our unique support and growth model, we are nurturing the next generation of storytellers by offering them industry mentorship, paid apprenticeships on a professional film set, and funding for inaugural projects.

Needs

We are currently fundraising for our second cycle of our Emerging Filmmaker Program. This program cycle will support three teams of diverse female identifying or gender expansive filmmakers from Kitsap county and beyond with skills training, industry mentorship, funding, and paid apprenticeships on a local professional film set. We have already raised 75% of our program costs for 2026 and are looking to raise the remaining 25% to support three teams of filmmakers this year!
