The Humane Society of Mason County (HSMC) is a community-led, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate care and lifesaving services for animals in need. Unlike many shelters, HSMC does not receive funding from government contracts or larger organizations—we rely entirely on generous donations, fundraising efforts, and service fee revenue to support our mission. With a focus on fostering and community-based sheltering, HSMC works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome vulnerable animals while offering accessible veterinary care and resources to local pet owners. Every donation directly impacts our ability to save lives, expand programs, and make Mason County a safer, more humane place for all animals.
The Humane Society of Mason County is a non-profit organization providing assistance and care to displaced or abused animals including control of pet and feral population. HSMC provides free/low cost veterinary care focusing on spay and neuter at our clinic in Belfair. Since opening our clinic in Feb 2022 HSMC has provided services for over EIGHT thousand animals. HSMC rescues hundreds of animals every year from Mason County, all animals are fostered in homes or at our local woman's correctional facility in Belfair. All animals are provided medical care and TLC until they find their forever homes. HSMC is working to construct a building to provide shelter for even more stray and abandoned animals in Mason County.
