The Humane Society of Mason County (HSMC) is a community-led nonprofit expanding access to lifesaving veterinary care and compassionate sheltering across Mason and surrounding counties.
Based in North Mason, HSMC serves families throughout the region by providing rescue and adoption services, high-volume spay and neuter surgeries, foster-based sheltering, and critical pet support resources. In 2025 alone, we rescued 1,346 pets, performed 5,665 spay/neuter surgeries, and supported 3,899 families with food, supplies, temporary foster care, and veterinary services.
While our roots are in Mason County, our impact extends beyond county lines. Many of our spay and neuter clients travel from neighboring communities to access affordable veterinary care. Through strong adoption partnerships in Kitsap County - including Ziggyās Cat Lounge and PetSmart - we work collaboratively to place animals into loving homes throughout the region.
As an independent nonprofit, our programs are powered by donors, community partnerships, fundraising events, and service revenue. Every contribution strengthens regional access to veterinary care, reduces shelter overcrowding, and helps keep pets and people together.
We are not only saving lives - we are building a more humane, connected community for animals and the families who love them.
We invite you to explore our full 2025 Impact Report to see how your support is changing lives and completing families every day.
