Support Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center (KIAC), the only organization in the West Sound/Salish region providing direct services and referrals specific to immigrants.

Serving immigrants in Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson, and Clallam counties, we offer a safe and welcoming hub of services focused on the well-being and empowerment of immigrants and their families.

KIAC acts as a hub of resources for immigrants in our community – both with accessing routine services, as well as in times of crisis.

Jonathan* turned to KIAC in September of 2023 after a sudden medical emergency and subsequent surgery left him unable to work for several months. He didn’t qualify for unemployment and did not qualify for rent assistance programs in the county. Not only was he faced with the struggle of how he was going to pay rent and provide for his and his son’s basic needs, but because he didn’t qualify for health insurance, he also had extensive medical bills from his recent hospital stay.

KIAC was able to step in and help. Through our Emergency Assistance Fund, we were able to provide Jonathan with enough funds to cover over two months of rent, as well as a Winco gift card to help cover food costs while he was without work. We also worked with the hospital to reduce his bills and enroll him in a payment plan.

He and his son were able to remain in their current housing and his son was able to remain enrolled in the same school. Now, Jonathan is back to work and continues to come to KIAC’s free medical clinic for follow-up medical care.

KIAC is here for immigrants in our community.
