Kitsap Philharmonic (K-Phil) is Kitsap County's largest and most robust youth symphony orchestra, consisting of two symphony orchestras, two string only ensembles, 140+ student musicians, and 13 artistic staff members. K-Phil student musicians come from three counties (Kitsap, Jefferson, and Pierce) and attend over 21 different public schools.
All students ages 8 to 21 are welcome to audition and only one year of music experience is required. K-Phil ensures scholarships are available so every student can participate, regardless of financial constraints. Students rehearse at Central Kitsap High School on Sunday nights throughout the school year and experience group rehearsals, as well as sectionals with artistic staff trained in their instrument.
K-Phil performs three concerts per school year with free admission, making symphony orchestra performances accessible to all in Kitsap and surrounding counties. Kitsap Philharmonic performs at the Central Kitsap Performing Arts Center (CK PAC) and often has standing room only concerts. Members of K-Phil's staff and executive board are longtime music educators, parents, and patrons of the arts.
Students pay an annual tuition fee, but in order to keep tuition low ($700+ lower than the second closest youth symphony) we rely on donations from generous local donors. Funds raised help pay for scholarships, artistic staff salaries, rehearsal and concert venue space rentals, liability insurance, music repertoire, and more.
With your support, we can continue providing a unique, full orchestra experience to the young musicians of Kitsap County. Thank you for supporting K-Phil and we hope to see you at a future performance!
