100% complete

$4,000 Goal

Donations to this fund support local journalism in Kitsap County. Supplementing private-sector news organizations through philanthropy is unique, but it's also vital as newspapers and other startups strive to find new sources of funding to sustain local news now and into the future.

Money raised by this fund is dedicated to the Kitsap Sun's internship program, which hired three students in 2021, two students in 2022, two in 2023 and two so far in 2024. Your gift provides college-level journalism students an opportunity to learn in a professional environment, and also boosts the Sun's coverage of local events and issues through the temporary addition of young reporters working alongside our staff.
