Mission

Our aim is to re-home animals when appropriate, train permanent residents for volunteer therapy, and care for special needs or retirement animals for the duration of their life when necessary. We hope to bring awareness and education to the public about all animals and their needs.

Description

Melt My Heart Rescue and Sanctuary is an all species rescue that has a primary focus on special needs and education whether goat, alpaca, dog, cat, bird, reptile or otherwise. Some of our residents are advocates and provide therapeutic visits for certain populations such as terminally ill, children going through difficult times, individuals with special needs, veterans, etc. The Sanctuary supports many special needs or elderly residents who live out their lives enjoying a new lease on life where their needs are carefully met to their own individuality. While those who are taken from bad situations and rehabilitated are sometimes able to find homes through the rescue and are carefully matched with their forever family. We also provide education and advocacy as well as a pet retention program to help families going through difficult times retaining their ability to stay with their beloved family friend.
