$25,000 Goal

Twice the winner of Food Lifeline's Agency Excellence Award, ShareNet provides emergency food through core food bank services and Food2GO, a backpack program serving schoolchildren in need every scheduled week of the school year at all Kingston public schools.  ShareNet also partners to provide screened crisis assistance, mostly in the form of eviction and utility shutoff prevention funds, provides referral vouchers for transportation and household goods, and sponsors seasonal and community events such as quarterly visits of a mobile dental clinic.

ShareNet serves more Seniors and Children than any other demographic.

ShareNet's Meal Kits program debuted in 2024, where all ingredients for a particular recipe are provided weekly, augmenting other core Food Bank services.

ShareNet's Fresh & Frozen program continues to enhance client nutrition by purchasing and distributing as much fresh produce as possible through purchasing and partnerships with local farms and gardens, as well as providing fresh-frozen products where possible.

ShareNet's Fresh Start program makes a full spate of hygiene products, everything from dental floss to soap, in full unopened sizes available to clients.

As well as the bricks and mortar food bank, in 2022 ShareNet's pop-up Mobile Food Bank series was inaugurated in Indianola, providing six weeks of intensively local service to a hotspot of need in one of 6 communities we serve (Kingston, Hansville, Indianola, Port Gamble, Eglon, Little Boston).

Mission

ShareNet focuses on hunger and poverty issues in northernmost Kitsap with meaningful programs in a nourishing environment.

Needs

On any given day, a significant percentage of the food ShareNet distributes to locals in need is purchased. Donated food is a great augmentation but not enough to sustain a thorough, nutritious, and systematic distribution, not enough to match the need in our communities. ShareNet purchases more food now than at any other time in our history, a time when food prices are also at their highest.

We need your help so that we continue to have enough food and are able to serve at a consistently high level. Thank you!
