$500 Goal

Spirit of Life Lutheran's LifeCare Community Foodbank provides emergency food to families in our community who are struggling to provide sufficient food to themselves and their families. In 2021 we provided the equivalent of more than 15,000 meals to members of our community through the donations of our members, neighbors, and businesses and organizations in our community. We experienced expanded visibility in the community with increases in volunteers and donations. We were able to purchase a new side by side freezer to store food in one location for quicker service.

Our childcare, Little Doves Children's Learning Center, provides care and learning opportunities to children. We accept children from families who receive child care subsidies from the state and we participate in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program to provide meals to children at risk. We also participate in the Early Achievers Program, have received a '3' rating, and are in the process of working towards a '4'. Many of our teachers have enrolled in Olympic College this year under the encouragement of our director, and are taking classes to further their understanding of Early Childhood Education.
