During the past twelve months, one of the things we have worked toward is helping some of Kitsap’s homeless community members transition into more secure housing. We work directly with other non profits in the area who have been providing transitional housing for people. With our assistance they have also been allowing pets. We believe that it is very important to keep people and their pets together during their time without a home. By providing pet food, supplies and basic veterinary care the landlords are much more comfortable allowing pets into their properties.

Due to the increase in unhoused people and their pets we have also been funding an increased number of spay and neuters, vaccinations, as well as deworming and flea prevention treatment. Also, when one of our clients pets suffer a medical emergency we do everything we can to get them to the right clinic or hospital and try to cover all or most of that medical bill. Occasionally we are able to pay for a few nights in a campground after a pet's surgery so the owner and pet can find some relief from constant moving around and stress. We have also been able to provide eligible dog owners with some basic dog training classes through dog training agencies in Kitsap County.

We have been able to significantly decrease many pets suffering from very common and simple to treat ailments. Many dogs will get ear infections or skin issues from flea allergies. With our help we can easily treat these illnesses and drastically improve the pet and owners quality of life. We receive messages from owners after we provide care, telling us that their dog is acting like they use to and playing and eating well again. If you own a pet you know how much better you feel when your pet is no longer suffering from an injury or illness. We are honored to be able to do this for our most vulnerable community members and their pets. They already have enough to worry about in life, and if we can take away some of those challenges we are more than willing to do so.

We also utilize our custom made utility trailer to collect and distribute donations such as pet food and outdoor living supplies like sleeping bags and backpacks. Many people are faced with food insecurity for themselves and their pets. We partner with local pet stores and now the Kitsap Humane Society to receive and distribute pet food. We collect and distribute thousands of pounds of pet food to those in need.

Thank you for your consideration and your support! We couldn't do it without you!
