In the early months of 2012, a group of young adults gathered in a room to pray. Thrive formed and young adults from all around came together to grow and transformation began to take place.
Thrive soon outgrew its first meeting spot and moved to meeting in a church in 2013. Over the years, Thrive has been blessed to see lives transformed, community built, and relationships with Jesus take root. In 2015, Thrive launched its second branch in Kitsap County. A group of young adults gathered to pray, worship, eat, and learn about the Bible, and eventually they moved to meeting at Peninsula Bible Fellowship.
Today more than 100 young adults from 50 churches meet weekly in two locations.
Thrive Kitsap works to empower young adults to live full, purpose driven lives by providing community, learning opportunities, and challenging them to serve in and alongside the many churches in Kitsap county.
In the face of our present reality, that 70% of those raised in church will abandon their faith by the age of 23, Thrive's mission is to reach out to the 70%, strengthen the 30%, and reach the unreached.
This past year has been enormously fruitful for Thrive's ministry. Our numbers have grown, we held our largest fall retreat ever, and we saw a half-dozen people profess faith in Christ or be baptized.
We are continuing to seek additional support to put us and our small staff in a more stable financial position.
