Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. At Girls on the Run, we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them on of a kind. Trained volunteer coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. This spring, over the course of an 8-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade will develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health & fitness. They will also learn the how to's of navigating emotions, standing up for themselves & others, rephrasing negative self-talk, choosing positive friendships and so much more. The program culminates with the girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.

We believe that every girl is inherently full of power and potential. By knowing they are the leaders of their own lives, these are the girls who will change themselves, their families, communities and the world.

Mission

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Needs

It is important to us to be able to remove barriers in place for any girl who wants to participate in the Girls on the Run program to be able to do so. With 64% of participants needing financial assistance, as well as support with running shoes, we count on our incredible, kind hearted community to partner with us to create possibilities for the self discovery, goal setting and whole person health for those on the GOTR teams.
