At Spirit of Life Lutheran Church, our Life Care Community Foodbank exists for one simple reason: no one in our community should have to choose between paying a bill and putting food on the table. Life Care provides emergency food to individuals and families in Kitsap County who are facing food insecurity. Each year, we distribute thousands of meals thanks to the generosity of our congregation, neighbors, local businesses, and community partners. As awareness of our mission has grown, so has the support around it. Increased volunteers and community donations have allowed us to expand our reach and serve families more efficiently and with greater care. Recent improvements, including additional food storage equipment, have helped us streamline service so that those who come through our doors are met quickly and with dignity.

Spirit of Life is also home to Little Doves Children’s Learning Center, where children are nurtured, supported, and given a strong start. We welcome families who receive state child care subsidies and participate in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program to ensure children receive nutritious meals each day. Through Washington’s Early Achievers Program, we have earned a Level 3 rating and are actively working toward Level 4, reflecting our commitment to high quality early childhood education. Several of our teachers are currently pursuing coursework to deepen their expertise and strengthen the learning environment we provide.

When you give, you are not just making a donation. You are feeding neighbors, supporting working families, and investing in the next generation of our community.

Mission

A Welcoming, Renewing and Serving Intergenerational Community Of Discipleship in Christ

Needs

LifeCare Community Foodbank continues to see steady demand as more families experience rising grocery costs, housing instability, and unexpected financial strain. Financial donations allow us to purchase fresh produce, dairy, protein, and staple items in bulk to meet immediate needs. Funds also help maintain refrigeration and freezer storage, ensuring food safety and efficient service.

Little Doves Children’s Learning Center relies on ongoing support to provide nutritious meals, classroom materials, learning resources, and continued professional development for teachers. As we work toward a Level 4 Early Achievers rating, we are investing in curriculum enhancements and staff education to strengthen the quality of care we provide.

Your gift helps sustain these ministries so that families in our community have access to food, safe child care, and compassionate support when they need it most.
