$18,000 Goal

MWEEP(USA) is a Kitsap County based all-volunteer Board of six women with one Board Advisor.  Our goal is to raise funds to send to Kenya to be distributed by MWEEP(Kenya), also an all-volunteer Board.  MWEEP(Kenya) screens girls who apply for school fee assistance.  MWEEP is a cost/share program that requires families to provide some support based on their financial ability.  Checks are sent directly to the schools where the girls are attending.  Because of our volunteer boards we have little overhead expense so every year we strive to send at least 90% of all donations directly to MWEEP(Kenya) for distribution.

Mission

To provide educational opportunities for girls and women in Kenya to become empowered members of their society.

Needs

MWEEP is a cost-sharing program and supports girls/women in many different schools so the fees vary as well as family ability to assist in the cost. We generally calculate that $300 sends a girl to secondary school for one year and $500 sends a girl to post-secondary school for one year.
