Thank you for continuing to stand with the Polaris Theater during this pivotal season.

In 2026, our beloved small town movie theater turns 102 years old. As the oldest cinema house in Kitsap County since 1924 it has welcomed generations through its doors, and TOGETHER we are restoring it as a vibrant gathering place for arts, film, music, education, celebrations, and community life.

Has this process been easy or fast? NO.

Is our community worth it? YES.

Is our Foundation fully committed to supporters like you & and are we so much closer to our goal of reopening with a fully renovated facility? YES YES & YES.

Because of your generosity, real progress is happening.

Momentum continues to build. We recently were AWARDED A $365,000 GRANT contract with the State of Washington. These funds will allow us to replace the roof, complete required fire and safety upgrades, completely renovate the restrooms, and finish demolition in the lobby. This work will begin in the coming months. This investment strengthens our ability to pursue additional grants and donor support as we work toward securing the remaining funds needed to complete the interior renovation and reopen.

OUR GREATEST NEED FROM YOU, our Kitsap community, is operational support. Monthly expenses such as water and sewer, electricity, insurance, engineering, and architectural planning ADD UP as construction progresses. These costs may not be glamorous, but they are the steady foundation that keeps this project moving forward. WE CANNOT USE GRANT MONEY TO COVER THESE COSTS DURING CONSTRUCTION, so we are asking our community for assistance. Our goal is to raise $7,500 to cover essential operating expenses during this critical phase.

We believe downtown Port Orchard needs and deserves a place to gather, enjoy films, live music, live theater, comedy, performances, celebrations and educational programming. The Polaris Theater is being restored not only as a cinema, but as a welcoming home for kids, teens, families, artists, musicians, educators, and neighbors from every walk of life.

We believe the THE BEST DAYS OF SOUTH KITSAP are still ahead. This building has served our community for more than a century, and we are committed to ensuring it serves for another hundred years. Your gift today helps preserve history, strengthen community, and bring this dream closer to reopening day.

THANK YOU for believing in the power of shared spaces. Thank you for being part of the story. Thank you for saying YES to this project with your funds.
Thank you!
