Let's Finish Strong: Four Months Needed to Provide Youth Shelter for 2026

The Coffee Oasis currently operates the only two low-barrier youth shelters in Kitsap and Pierce counties, yet Washington State has over 40,000 youth facing homelessness.

One young woman, Lily, became homeless the day after Christmas and went to The Coffee Oasis to look for help.

She used the drop-in centers to access food and clothing, worked with a case manager, and found peace of mind while she stayed in the youth shelter. Having twice the length of time to stay compared to most shelters, it gave her the time needed to find permanent housing. 

She shared, "when they said they were going to do something, they did what they said they were going to do. They didn't let me slip through the cracks."

Thanks to the generosity of our community at our annual fundraisers, we raised 8 months of funding for the youth shelters to operate in 2026. This holiday season, The Coffee Oasis has set an ambitious goal to raise $216,000 to provide shelter operations for the last four months of 2026.

Mission: Restoring communities through compassionate youth programs and coffee businesses.

The Coffee Oasis is a Christian non-profit organization that exists to create pathways of opportunity for youth to be restored in heart, soul, mind, and body. We believe youth are the future of our community, but many are hurting, homeless, and hindered from living their full potential. The Coffee Oasis youth programs offer a place for the community to invest in their future—the youth. We do this through creating safe shared spaces, mentorship, street and school outreach, goal setting, job training, shelter, and crisis services. The only way for our mission to succeed is through the support of the entire community—intentional intergenerational and cross-cultural investment. We accomplish this mission through a sustainable and successful coffee business. The cafés offer a “third place” for the community to gather and buy products with the added value of all profits returning to create opportunities for youth.
