West Sound Wildlife Shelter's Mission
At West Sound Wildlife Shelter, we believe every wild creature deserves a second chance. We provide compassionate, expert care for injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife, guiding them back to health and returning them to their natural habitats whenever possible. Beyond rescue and rehabilitation, we are committed to fostering a deeper connection between people and wildlife through education, outreach, and hands-on involvement. Together, we can protect and preserve the wild creatures that share our world.
About Us
For 35 years, West Sound Wildlife Shelter has been a lifeline for the region’s injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife. Our dedicated team of wildlife specialists, veterinarians, and volunteers works tirelessly to provide life-saving medical care and rehabilitation, ensuring that these animals have a second chance to thrive in the wild.
But our mission extends beyond rescue—we are passionate about educating our community on the importance of wildlife conservation. Through interactive programs, outreach efforts, and hands-on learning, we inspire people of all ages to become stewards of nature.
Every day, our doors remain open to those who find animals in distress, offering expertise, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our ecosystem.
Why Every Dollar Counts
Each year, more than 1,600 wild animals arrive at our shelter in desperate need of care—injured eagles, orphaned raccoons, owls struck by cars, and songbirds caught in storms. Every one of them has a story. Every one of them depends on us.
Your generosity provides critical medical treatment, nourishing food, safe shelter, and a chance for these animals to heal and return to the wild where they belong. But our work doesn’t stop there. Your support also sustains vital education programs, empowering future generations to protect and advocate for our region’s wildlife.
As costs rise and the number of animals in need continues to grow, your donation has never been more essential. When an animal is in distress, we want to say yes—and with your help, we can.
Donate today. Be the hope they need.
