Then came the Empowering Youth Mentor Program (EYMP). At first, Sam was skeptical. But their mentor became someone they could trust, laugh with, and confide in. They went on small adventures, shared trips to the movies, and discovered what it felt like to have someone who truly cared.

Mentorship isn’t just guidance — it can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. Many youth in the program face trauma, juvenile justice involvement, or family instability. Kitsap Community Resources (KCR) is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and youth across Kitsap County through programs that foster connection, growth, and stability.

Through EYMP, youth are paired with caring mentors who provide guidance, friendship, and positive experiences that help build confidence and brighter futures.
