Elevate Every Voice: A New Stage for Silverwood

At Silverwood School, learning is alive.

Students don’t just sit and listen. They perform, present, sing, act, question, and celebrate together. The arts and public presentation are not extras here; they are woven into how students build confidence, courage, and connection.

For years, our performances and assemblies have taken place on a handmade stage built with care and generosity. It has supported countless concerts, class presentations, seasonal celebrations, and milestone moments. We are grateful for the way it has served our community.

But it is time for the next chapter.

Our current stage is aging, heavy, and difficult to move. It limits how we use the Commons and cannot be safely transported outdoors. As our programs and community gatherings continue to grow, we need a safer, more flexible solution that reflects the vibrant learning happening at Silverwood today.

Through this year’s Great Give, we are raising funds to replace our handmade stage with a high-quality modular, portable stage system.

Why a Modular Stage?

The Commons is the heart of Silverwood. It is a space where we gather as a full community. A modular stage system will allow us to transform that space quickly and safely for:

• School assemblies
• Music and theater performances
• Student exhibitions and presentations
• Guest speakers
• Parent gatherings and community events

Unlike our current structure, a modular system can be configured to fit the event and then stored efficiently when not in use.

Even more importantly, it can move outdoors. Whether for closing ceremonies, spring performances, or summer theater presentations, the stage will travel with us, allowing learning and celebration to extend into nature — one of Silverwood’s greatest classrooms.

This flexibility ensures we are investing responsibly in something durable, adaptable, and designed to serve students for years to come.

Stewardship and Safety

Replacing our current handmade stage is also a matter of stewardship. A professionally engineered modular system will provide greater stability, safer assembly, and easier mobility. It will reduce staff setup time and ensure we are meeting evolving safety standards.

This is not simply an upgrade — it is a thoughtful investment in our students’ experience and our community’s long-term needs.

Our Goal

Through the Great Give, we aim to raise $10,000 to purchase and install a modular stage system that will serve Silverwood for the next generation of learners.
